It is easily reached on foot from nearby subway stations and streetcar routes, and its adjacent landmarks make it simple to find. Entry is free and the green is open through the day; allow an hour to combine the park with a gallery or campus visit.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"When_to_visit\"><\/span>When to visit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Summer is peak season, when the splash pad runs and the shaded lawns draw picnickers escaping the downtown heat. It was bequeathed to the art museum in 1910, with the City agreeing to maintain it as public parkland. The park reached its current footprint in the mid-1970s and reopened in July 2017 after a major revitalization. Most of the time it&#039;s not a problem, but it can be a bit distracting. A brand-new playground and a small water area where kids can run and play. It&#039;s a great place for exercise, and there&#039;s also a large grassy area for a picnic.
